Progress report and Sponsor's supplemental statement, 1940 August.

The Minnesota Income Study, a Works Progress Administration project sponsored by the Minnesota Resources Commission, was organized to provide analyses of Minnesota income distribution and the aggregate amount of income by industry and payment type. The progress report covers two years of the study (August 31, 1938-September 30, 1940) and outlines the objectives and structure of the study. Included are four appendices that detail work procedures and contain forms used for compiling and analyzing data in four areas: a nonfarm field survey, a farm field survey, analysis of Minnesota unemployment compensation records, and analysis of Minnesota income tax returns. Accompanying the progress report is the Sponsor's Supplemental Statement requesting additional funding and support to see the project to completion.
